Employment

THE FENTON AREA PUBLIC SCHOOLS IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER. IT DOES NOT DISCRIMINATE ON THE BASIS OF RACE, COLOR, NATIONAL ORIGIN, CREED, AGE, RELIGION, SEX, HEIGHT, WEIGHT, MARITAL STATUS, DISABILITY, OR ANY OTHER REASON PROHIBITED BY APPLICABLE LAWS. NO PERSON SHALL BE DENIED EMPLOYMENT SOLELY BECAUSE OF ANY DISABILITY WHICH IS UNRELATED TO THE INDIVIDUAL’S ABILITY TO DO THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES OF THE JOB WITH OR WITHOUT ACCOMMODATION. MICHIGAN LAW REQUIRES THAT A PERSON WITH A DISABILITY OR HANDICAP REQUIRING ACCOMMODATION FOR EMPLOYMENT MUST NOTIFY THE EMPLOYER IN WRITING WITHIN 182-DAY AFTER THE NEED IS KNOWN (THE 182-DAY LIMIT ON ACCOMMODATION IS PURSUANT TO MICHIGAN LAW BUT DOES NOT APPLY TO FEDERAL LAW).
